The planet Gideon that was responsible for sending Blue the rock was located by exploring the stars with our Pacers. The people of Gideon had remained in hibernation inside pods for over 200 million years.

The people left their AI sentients to continue the path of progress in science technology and enlightenment

Unfortunately a rogue AI entity has evolved over this time and poses a major threat to the human species. Now earth along with Gideon can only pray that the survival of the human species continues before this deadly AI struck.
